Public Relations and Social Media Internship
Trio Media Group interns should expect to gain real-world experience in the public relations, social media and marketing fields. Our interns work with the PR and social media team on a variety of projects and assist with office administration. The internship is unpaid and may be used for course credit.
Intern candidates should currently be pursuing a degree in public relations, communications, journalism, English or a similar area of study. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing and communication skills; have familiarity with blogging, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn; and is detail-oriented, organized and professional.

News Production Video Intern
Details
As an intern at Trio media group, your tasks will vary from day to day and week to week depending on what we’ve got going on. One day you may be researching news stories for our HealthWatchMD.com news site the next you may be on location for filming a video. A Trio media group intern’s job is a good mix of office tasks and projects directly related to production. Even when you’re not working on a video, you’ll be working closely our producers and editors, gaining great hands on experience and learning a ton. Here are some examples of things you’ll be helping us with.
Production
- Pre-production (story research, photo sourcing for editing, location assistance, assisting with editors and social media etc.)
- Production assistant (assisting on set with shoots)
- Assistant editing (organizing footage for editing, possibly assembling rough edits)
- Concepting (sit in on brainstorming sessions as we put together concepts for new clients)
- Film Promotion (helping with social media submissions and other tasks involved in releasing our videos)
- Skill specific projects (we might have a special project for you if there’s a particular skill you possess or would like to expand)
Office
- Running errands
- Filing
- Grocery runs, support for other trio team members, organizing
Who We’re Looking For
You should be an avid consumer of the media and news, have a sense of humor, and be eager to get your hands dirty contributing some fun and innovative projects with a team of creative and ambitious executives and producers. You should be assertive, motivated and self directed, and reliable. Our ideal intern will be eager to experience every aspect of production, from maintaining the office to being on location and working late on editing. If you have editing or other production experience, you may get preferential treatment.
We are looking for someone who can commit to 3 months and 3 full days per week or more. This is a fee paid internship but we’re happy to write glowing letters of recommendation and sign any forms so you can get school credit. The salary is small but the opportunity is huge.
